UCI Medical Center

UCI Medical Center is a 459-bed acute care hospital providing tertiary and quaternary care, ambulatory and specialty medical, behavioral health and rehabilitation services. Located in Orange, it is the primary teaching location for the UCI School of Medicine.

The county’s first Joint Commission-designated Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Only combined Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma facility in Orange County.

Only Gold Level 1 geriatric emergency department in Orange County accredited by the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Opened the first two Federally Qualified Health Centers in Orange County to provide clinical care for underserved communities.

Home to the first and only adult hematopoietic stem cell/bone marrow transplant program in Orange County.

Member of the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine’s Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing Network in recognition of UC Irvine’s leading role in cell and gene therapy for Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s diseases, spinal cord injury and stroke.

Home to the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer-Institute designated comprehensive cancer center based in Orange County and one of only 57 nationally.

Expanding Footprints

To complement the flagship 459-bed hospital in Orange and service sites across the region, UCI Health is adding 1,054 beds and 4,400 co-workers. We have already added 858 of those beds through our expanding community network. This ongoing expansion makes it easier for people to access academic healthcare and services closer to home, advancing our mission to serve the residents of California and drive innovation in clinical care for all patients.
