Health Sciences Complex Highlights

SUSAN SAMUELI INTEGRATIVE HEALTH INSTITUTE
Mussallem Nutritional Education Center
A cutting-edge teaching kitchen for patient nutrition and cooking classes led by Samueli Institute’s executive chef, as well as interprofessional education and community offerings. The hoods over each cooking station allow an unobstructed view from the participants to the instructor. The hybrid ceiling ventilation model is one of only a few of its kind. Each cooking station has its own audio-visual display. The space has broadcasting capabilities to engage with participants who are unable to attend in person.
Sue & bill gross School of nursing
High Fidelity Simulation & Skills Center
A high-tech, state-of-the-art simulation center for team-based interprofessional exercises. The center features four suites, each with a different focus, including women’s health and pediatrics, surgery, critical care and community health, as well as a hospital bed unit and an examination room. The top-of-the-line, lifelike mannequins can exhibit a variety of human health conditions to provide high fidelity simulation experiences.

Rooftop Garden, Living Walls and More
Access to the healing powers of the outdoors and nature are provided in numerous green spaces, including rooftop gardens with ample outdoor seating, living plant walls with self-irrigation, an outdoor wooden deck with a noise-blocking wall for Tai Chi, as well as several outdoor terraces for quiet contemplation or special events.

Meeting Spaces
The classrooms and conference rooms are equipped with the latest technology for presentation, collaboration and active learning, and designed with user experience in mind. Furnished with beautiful, ergonomic seating and flooded with natural light, some boast a private terrace.

Reservation for Health Sciences Complex

All of our classrooms, a selection of our conference rooms and outdoor spaces, as well as Sue Gross Auditorium are available for reservation, by the health sciences faculty, staff and students for classes, meetings and events.
