The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building continues to take shape. Interior framing is complete throughout the building, and drywall installation has been finished through Level 5 and is progressing into Level 6. Drywall work in the PI hub is on track to be completed this month. Fume hoods and laboratory furniture have been installed on Levels 2 and 3, with installation continuing on Levels 4 and 5. All three stairs (1, 2, and 3) are now fully plastered, and their railings have been painted. Site concrete work has commenced, including the construction of planter walls, retaining walls and light pole bases. Civil concrete work is underway, and asphalt paving has begun. The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building will be a vibrant research facility where brilliant scientists collaborate to address healthcare’s most challenging problems, leading to unprecedented discoveries. Scheduled to open in 2025, it will be one of the largest interdisciplinary research hubs on the West Coast, focused on project-driven medical innovation. Empowered by UC Irvine’s One Health alliance, the building will unite talent from various health disciplines and attract new recruits from around the globe.
