The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building continues to make significant progress. Interior work is advancing steadily, with drywall installation now complete through Level 6 in the lab bar area. The PI hub’s drywall work has been successfully completed as of late January, marking an important milestone in the building’s interior development. Laboratory outfitting is progressing well, with fume hoods and laboratory furniture installation now extending to Levels 5 and 6. This process is being closely coordinated with vinyl flooring installation to ensure efficient and high-quality results. All three stairways (1, 2, and 3) are now fully complete, with plastering and railing painting finished. Site concrete work, including planter walls, retaining walls and light pole bases, has been completed as of the end of January. Civil concrete work continues, and while some asphalt paving has been completed, the remainder of the parking lot and fire lane paving is scheduled for completion in March. These developments keep the Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building on track for its anticipated completion this May. The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building will be a vibrant research facility where brilliant scientists collaborate to address healthcare’s most challenging problems, leading to unprecedented discoveries. Scheduled to open in 2025, it will be one of the largest interdisciplinary research hubs on the West Coast, focused on project-driven medical innovation. Empowered by UC Irvine’s One Health alliance, the building will unite talent from various health disciplines and attract new recruits from around the globe.
