Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building Construction Completed

We are thrilled to announce that construction of the Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building has been successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in our journey to cure disease and support lifelong wellness. The interior work has been finalized, including drywall installation, epoxy flooring and ceiling installations throughout the building. The exterior of the building has been beautifully finished, with landscaping enhancing the surroundings and all concrete work, planter walls and paving now complete. Recently, we celebrated this achievement with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially inaugurate the building. While the main construction is complete, our team will continue to add final touches to prepare the space for researchers. We anticipate the building to be fully operational and occupied in the fall. We extend our thanks to everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition. Learn more about the Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building and its pioneering research programs.

The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building will be a vibrant research facility where brilliant scientists collaborate to address healthcare’s most challenging problems, leading to unprecedented discoveries. Scheduled to open in May 2025, it will be one of the largest interdisciplinary research hubs on the West Coast, focused on project-driven medical innovation. Empowered by UC Irvine’s One Health alliance, the building will unite talent from various health disciplines and attract new recruits from around the globe.

The Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building was made possible by a generous lead gift from Adeline Mah, MD, and Robert Mah, PhD, through their Falling Leaves Foundation. This donation realizes a dream to create a dynamic knowledge hub that will inspire discoveries and provide life-changing treatments. To learn about supporting programs for the Falling Leaves Foundation Medical Innovation Building, contact Health Advancement at healthadvancement@uci.edu.
