Celebrating 2025 COHS Faculty Assembly Awards

The Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences (COHS) Faculty Assembly has announced its second cohort of faculty honorees for the Faculty Assembly Awards. These awards recognize outstanding contributions and collaborative efforts across the School of Medicine, Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health.

The 2025 awardees include:

Orange County Population Health Impact Award

Sora Park Tanjasiri, MPH, DrPH, professor of health, society and behavior, for her work on cancer health disparities among diverse populations.

National and/or Global Health Impact Award

Tetyana Vasylyeva, MSc, MPH, DPhil, assistant professor of population health and disease prevention, for her research on HIV epidemics and transmission dynamics in vulnerable populations.

Basic Science COHS Team Research Award

Munjal Acharya, PhD, associate professor of anatomy and neurobiology and associate professor of radiation oncology, and Alexandre Chan, PharmD, MPH, professor of clinical pharmacy, for their collaborative work on cancer-related cognitive impairments.

Clinical COHS Team Research Award

Michelle Fortier, PhD, professor of nursing, Michael Hoyt, PhD, professor of population health and disease prevention, and Zeev Kain, MD, MBA, distinguished professor of anesthesiology and perioperative care, for their multidisciplinary research at the UCI Center on Stress & Health.
