College of Health Sciences building reached an exciting milestone with the topping off of the last beam of the fifth floor. We celebrated with our generous donors, Susan and Henry Samueli.
Top photo: With the exterior structure now complete, framing of interior walls has begun, fire sprinklers are being installed, and work on the exterior walls will soon start. Bottom left: The adjacent Sue & Bill Gross Nursing & Health Sciences Hall building. The first floor foundation, vertical elements, and retaining walls are now complete, and the second floor deck is going up. Bottom right: A scenic 600-foot-long wellness walk will connect the new buildings to the School of Medicine’s Biomedical Research Center and main campus. The walkway has been poured, curbs and gutters complete and planting and irrigation installation is already in progress! Asphalt and paving will be completed soon as well.
