2023-24 College Annual Impact Report

The 2023-24 Annual Impact Report celebrates a year of remarkable achievements at UC Irvine Health Affairs. This year, we established the Joe C. Wen School of Population & Public Health, fulfilling our vision of a four-school roster within the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences. This new addition joins our schools of medicine, nursing and pharmacy, playing a crucial role in disease prevention and promoting healthy lifespans through organized efforts and informed choices. Additionally, UCI Health has expanded into a regional health system, enhancing access to our services across more than 80 locations and growing from one to five hospitals with the creation of a community network. This expansion includes the opening of a new medical campus on the main UC Irvine campus, with UCI Health — Irvine set to open its hospital in 2025.

The theme of this year’s report, “community-minded health,” honors the creation of Wen Public Health and the UCI Health community network. It showcases how our dynamic faculty, staff and students employ our distinctive One Health alliance to elevate Health Affairs as a national prototype for a learning health system, amplifying our mission to: Discover. Teach. Heal.
